Open office for artists and producers

Open office for artists and producers

NEWS

Dance House Helsinki, Zodiak and Cirko will launch a joint Open office in Helsinki in autumn 2024. Sign up and come and meet us!

What an Open office is:

The Open office is a free and informal advisory service for artists and producers of dance and circus, a place to meet and work together. The Open office is a pop-up event organised once a month by Zodiak, Cirko and Dance House. The registration for each event is opened one month before - you can also come to the office spontaneously.

Zodiak, Cirko and Dance House staff will be present to offer advice, sparring and discussion support on production, management, communication, internationalisation and career development. The Open office also provides space and time to work together, meet and share with colleagues.

Autumn 2024 times and places:

Mon 2.9. at 13-17 in the Dance House Helsinki lobby. Sign up.

Mon 7.10. at 13-17 in the Dance House Helsinki lobby

Mon 4.11. at 13-17 in the Cirko offices

Mon 2.12. at 13-17 in Zodiak Stage

What the Open office is not:

The Open office is not a production service for individual projects or actors. This means that the Open office does not replace the work of a producer or production company, but can be used as a source of consultation and peer support, for example in production-related matters.

It is not a gateway to the programming of the houses and the curators of the houses are not usually present. It is therefore not worth coming to the open office to pitch your own work, but instead, for example, to practice or get feedback on your pitch.

House rules:

The Open office follows the principles of safer space of each venue.

In each venue, the aim is to provide space for both joint and bilateral discussions. If you want to work in peace and quiet, we recommend that you bring your own noise-cancelling headphones.

The staff of the Open office will endeavour to allow sufficient time for personalised advice for all those who wish to do so. In order to serve everyone equally, we can provide personal advice up to a maximum of 30-minute sessions.

The Loisto 2022-2024 project has been carried out with proof-of-concept funding from the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation.
